My design statement:
As the Lighting Designer for Dearly Departed, I used my talents to help sculpt the scenes in this show. Since, the director set this production in selective realism, I had more freedom to explore design choices. I ended up selecting different types of looks in different points, between the naturalistic foliage wash for the opening to the unrealistic "Tantrum" special in act II.
